Omaha Children’s Museum
Project: Charlie Campbell Exhibit
Location: Omaha, NE
Installed: April 2005
The Charlie Campbell Exhibit located at the Omaha Children's Museum is much more than a giant gravitron. The exhibit features a variety of interactives that teach visitors of all ages about pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical operations. The large space includes four gravitron walls that are all connected to the central overhead clam shell. Kids learn about simple machines by navigating balls through the gravitron wall to transport them through the tubing system. Kids can even operate a crane and hoist themselves up in a pulley-operated chair! The Inventor's Workshop teaches kids about famous inventors, as well as encourages them to become inventors of their own.
