Mississippi Children’s Museum

After 15 years, Mississippi Children’s Museum decided it was time to revitalize their water gallery. They enlisted Boss to design a newly reimagined space, featuring two custom exhibits that bring fresh experiences to visitors. These exhibits introduce interactive elements like hand-wheel powered diverters, button-activated drums, and cargo cranes that add unique character, all while preserving the charm of the original space. The Museum’s iconic water tower, featuring a 3 dimensional catfish and guitar, was reincorporated into the gallery as well!

Project: Mississippi River Water Table

Location: Jackson, MS

Installed: September 2023

The interactive water tower was refreshed and returned to a place of prominence in the gallery.

The custom shape of the water table was designed to fit the space perfectly.

The interactive starting gate allows users to line up multiple boats to begin the race.

The acrylic viewing dome allows visitors to gain a unique perspective of the table.

The interactive dock provides an engaging ending to the boat race table.

With the water table being densely populated with interactive elements, guests will have something to interactive with anywhere they approach from.

The second water table provides opportunities for guests to race their boats through various obstacles.

Guests of all ages can easily interact with the exhibit.

Lever activated fountains pair nicely with moveable water toys to encourage cause and effect learning.

Guests can construct their own waterways using the Duplo Dam feature on the boat racing table.
