Denver Museum of Nature & Science

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science approached Boss Display to reimagine their water table to better represent the naturalistic theme of the museum. Boss Display was tasked with creating an interactive exhibit that showcased the journey of water from the mountains to lakes while minimizing maintenance requirements. The team worked closely with the museum to design and build an exhibit that would accomplish all of these goals.

Project: Water Way

Location: Denver, CO

Installed: July 2020

The oversized mountain feature doubles as a waterfall and the front side of the filtration cabinet attached to the table.

The build a pipe water feature encourages guests to use the flow of water to spin the water wheel.

The table demonstrates the journey of water from the mountains to the hills, all the way through the plains and ending in the lakes of the surrounding nature.

Each of the removable bridges represents the lifesize counterpart from the surrounding area.

The geometric side panels were designed to meet the need for a natural aesthetic, resembling rocky terrain.

The Museum added small touches like plastic animals that are native to each of the habitats represented by the water table.

The gallery also features a smaller water table with a large fog filled mushroom fountain.
